New Developments

The District requires new developments to meet stringent water-use efficiency standards.

Indoors

Includes the installation of a high-efficiency clothes washing machines, high-efficiency dishwasher machines, high-efficiency toilets, ultra-low flow showerheads and sink aerators.

Outdoors

Includes the installation of weather-based irrigation controllers, strict turf allowances for residential developments and no turf for new commercial developments, soil amendments and mulching requirements, drips or other subsurface irrigation for all irrigated non-turf areas, and other landscape irrigation efficiency measures that exceed the requirements of the updated State Model Water Efficient Landscape Ordinance.
